I've recently noticed that Nickelodeon is now removing any video associated with them from YouTube. They are claiming "Copyright Infringement" Now, I can understand them wanting to remove the newer shows such as Drake and Josh, because it is still on the air. What gets me so angry is that they are taking off older shows that they do not even air on their network anymore. Besides shows, they are also removing classic commercials and classic show intros. Not only that, but they are even removing tributes that people have made themselves. What possible reason could they have for doing this? It's not like that are going to lose money or viewers because these videos are up. The people that watch them certainly don't watch Nickelodeon anymore. For those of us who grew up on classic Nickelodeon, YouTube is the only way for us to see these shows agian, since Nick refuses to play them. I think they are removing them out of spite, what do you think?

i dont really watch the old shows but man i had this Drake Bell video tribute that someone made on my playlist (it was really good btw) and i wanted to watch it again..i hadnt seen it forever. well when i went to it it said it has been removed due to copyright. guess they shouldnt associated it as Drake & Josh...
i think copyright infringement is a stupid law. i mean there are times when its important but most of the time its just plain silly. i myself make music videos using tv show clips and put em on there...usually only a certain show but i really dont see what the harm it is in it. i edit it myself with effects and everything..sure im using their clips but its not like im making money off it. its just for fun. so its not solely their content..its my idea based on their content and i always tell who the song is by. everyone knows that the tv show is done by the company. they should be thanking some of these people..people who had never seen some of these tv shows and watch the music vid for the show love it..and it would make them wanna watch the show. plus im part of a campaign, one of the vids i made was a promotion to help save the show from being cancelled early. if people like me dont advertise theyre gonna lose some viewers..im telling ya. they cancel the show theyre gonna lose viewers but advertising is gonna help it from not being cancelled so later on they should be happy we're helping to keep the show alive. dont they ever realize that these videos are a symbol of how much we love the show? i mean if we care enough to make a music video about it we obviously appreciate the fact that the creators brought this show into our lives. besides its not like im gonna do it all the time for every single video i post...soon im putting the footage of my bunnies when i can get the software to do it so ill finally have something SOLELY my own for a change..that oughta make them happy.
fanfics are the same way...sure theyre based on others ideas. i wrote a crossover fanfic and posted it on one of the main message boards i used to go to. apparently fanfics are copyright infringement but like i said theyre BASED on other ideas...it has the characters you know and love but in new situations. someday im gonna finish my next fanfic that has a few new people (of my friend and I's creation) so sometimes some characters in the fanfic are made up. i love fanfic.net but as far as the laws concerned that site would be illegal.
i mean theyve gotta stop and think that every invention is based on anothers idea. its the same thing isnt it? fanfics based..music vids on youtube based.
yes noone has the permission but where would you get the permission? it takes alot to contact these people. why do people have to get so mad? it shouldnt matter if you get permission or not..all in all people like you and me are NOT making money off it.

i think your 200% right.

i grew up on nick & the old "zoog" Disney.

Where they had shows that weren’t about crazy cartoons or boys with pet squirrels.

they had shows about going to camp & being out doors.

& silly game shows that gave you cool ideas for going out side & playing games.

they (both) had great shows for the 90's & yearly 2000's

like, you could come in from swimming & just go in front of your TV & watch Nick & Disney while your mom made you a pb & j.

:[ i miss those times.

they might still have them on google, but maybe its because people are copying the shows form youtube, and putting them on myspce, or something like that. that gives the money to youtube, not nickelodeon. they want the money for theselves. i love the old nick shows, too!!!
