He is a potential match-winner for pakistan...i would luv to compare him with pollock, as he has control over line and length, and can also swing the ball both aways...he would be one of the great cricketers for pakistan..

Dont worry tino, i thought that was a very interesting observation. I learnt along time ago, though, not to try make fun of any indian or pakistan play on this site.
As for the question... No way in hell. Akram was one of the best bowlers ever. Asif is fairly good, and has showed potential. but akram truely was one of the greatest players ever.

While Asif is a very good bowler and has the potential to take the place of Wasim Akram in Pakistan Team, one has to wait and see how he gorw up in his carreer as lot of current bowlers are not able to maintain their fitness as compared to old players and as such not able to play continuously without interruption.

Well Asif is such a talented player and if he play with consistency he would go very high.but can't predict yet whether he can go to wasim akram level or not !!!

well he has the potential but its only the beginning. talent alone is not enough as we ve seen earlier he has to maintain good discipline ,consistency n match fitness.
a lot depends on the head he is carrying on his shoulders.
