There are 2 types of freedom.
True freedom is the freedom you have in a state of nature (no government). This is the right to life, liberty and property. You are allowed to live, you are allowed to liberty and you are allowed to have property. BUT you are also alloud to take someone elses life, liberty and property. (which takes freedom from another)
Civic freedom is things when you have rights, but if you infringe on an other persons life, liberty or property, your rights are taken away. These rights are more along the lines of the right to vote, the right to drive a car, smoke, own property, etc. But if you infringe on someone elses rights (such as taking someone's right to life) then your rights are taken away - you can't vote, you can't own property, you can have a say, you don't even have a right to life anymore.
--- the basic answer ---
So, freedom in a state of nature is being able to do whatever you want, but civil freedom (which is the best way to go) is that you can do whatever you want, up untill it infringes on someone elses rights.

I doubt anyone will be able to provide you a clear answer to something so open to interpretation. But here's what I think it is:
Freedom is the ability of each person to indiscriminantly pursue a maximal number of pathways in life, whether detrimental or beneficial to society, in a free society, each person should have the unhindered right to choose.

Freedom is, simply put, the state in which a man can do whatever he wants without hurting others.
Freedom is defined by its boundries. Freedom isn't a lack of limits, because without laws to limit us we will hurt each other and restrict one another's freedom. Neither is freedom an excess of limits, because too many laws restrict one's abitity to do anything.
Thus freedom is the balance between too many laws and no laws: the state in which a man can do whatever he wants without hurting others.

The right to express yourself, spiritually, emotionally and physically. Freedom also carries a caveat, to do all of the above responsibly.

It is the ability to choose how you want to live your life.
But no one in this planet is free: we're very far of achieving that. What a shame!
