Unless you intend to replace the other three tires with another brand, I would replace the tire with one from the same manufacturer. Mainly because the speed and weather ratings would be very different and the cosmetics obviously wouldn't match. If this isn't the case, then you can buy whatever you want, providing the tires meet you driving habits.

Unless you are planning to replace all the tires in your car, you really should replace it with the same type. It isn't wise to drive on mixed tread patterns, particularly in inclement weather. One tread pattern might grip a little bit differently from the other tread patterns, leading to instability or uneven wear. Therefore, it is best to use the same tire on all 4 wheels. For instance, my car came with summer performance tires, but the spare is the same one used on the base model (i.e. the base tire). Even though it is the same size, the top speed recommended on the spare is 55mph. For the record, I switch to winter tires during the winter months (summer tires can't handle weather below freezing, or any ice or snow at all). I also use a full set of 4 winter tires for the same reason.

By Golly, I C!!!
Use your brain! Look closely at that tire! Is it flat all over? Or only on the bottom?
Would you inflate your entire hiney? If only one cheek is lopsided?
Underpants salespersons are standing by and absolutely 'inflated' with concern.
Okay. Back to life. Back to reality.
Yes, it's probly best to get an identical tire. But, if I were you, I'd get a used one. Performance will be the same.
Hug the Road, Dude!
And if your hiney deflates, blame the... the... Oh! Just sit it out!

You only need to ask your question once, you have asked this twice. Yes, it's a good idea to keep the tires on the same axle the same. When replacing one tire, assuming you can't afford to do two of them, you should use the same manufacturer to get the same tread pattern, and because it will be seamless when you rotate the tires.

If you're close to needing to replace the other three, perhaps this would be a good time to do so. Otherwise, using the same brand and size is highly advisable.
