I'm getting contractions but they are not dilating me, so I heard I can try using a birthing ball to motivate his head to get in the right spot and make me dilate. Anyone ever heard of this? Currently I'm trying sitting on it, swaying back and fourth, and lightly bouncing... Is there a special way I should sit? Anyone with experience in using a birthing ball to progress labor or a midwife/doulas input would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Sitting on the birth ball encourages you to be in a good position for baby to move down. Swaying or rocking on it is good. Also, you might try getting off the ball and squatting.

I sat on the birthing ball for the last month of my pregnancy... for hours a day.
My baby still had to be delivered via c-section because she wasn't dropping into position.

Good luck... just keep doing what your doing... bouncing and swaying.
