I think you will be a hero to those who knew you and loved you.
I have mixed feelings about the military. Some people enter the military not to protect our freedoms and our people but to benefit themselves with things like GI bills, bonuses etc. They don't necessarily believe in the causes they are fighting for. They HAVE to go once they sign up. I don't really consider them heroes. I feel bad for them losing their lives but ultimately they made the decision to join the military for what the military could offer them.
Those who join because they simply love their country and believe in the causes they are fighting for no matter whether this war is a war we should be fighting or not are the real heroes.

That would depend on the manner of your death. If you were to die in Iraq because you were cowardly fleeing the enemy and leaving your comrades to fight then no it would not make you a hero. If you were defending freedom yes it would. But as Patton said " No person ever won a war by dying for his country, he won the war by making the other person die for his", our prayers go with you and we hope that you fight bravey, kill as many of the enemy as you encounter and return safely!

If you are willing to go to Iraq as a marine, you are already a hero. If you die there as a stupid tourist who stuck his butt out the window, then u nothing but a crazy dumbass wuss!!!

If you go down protecting your country, yes. Everyone who died, and will die, defending America around the world are heroes.

Allot of troops are hero's, some are not. If you die in a honorable
and brave manner, you may.

Well first you gotta now somethin in war no side is evil and no side is good they are both have point of view so any side would be the good and the evil in the same time....soo serving your country in war and you dont care about if ur country was rong or right makes u ahero in your country among ur ppl but makes u an assasain to anothers.....so if u died for ur country guess u will be agreat hero..but if u lived for ur country that will be better......isnt it :-p
