The Yankees are horrible fans. We would never boo David Ortiz or Manny Ramirez if he was in a slump like that. But of course that would never happend. Just kidding. Everyone has bad days...in this case bad games.

i am shocked about the answers that Yankee fans have typed above. i really hope that a-rod plays on the Yankees for the rest of his career. they are forgetting the 2005 season when he won the MVP and led the mlb with 48 homers. we are just frustrated at him because he has blown many games but he is a normal person and normal people have good and bad years. I guarantee you 99.9% that he will have a monstrous year this year. Hopefully that we will give him a chance and not boo him. if Derek Jeter goes into a slump, we would never boo him. I think that we should treat every Yankee as we treat Jeter and support them. Save the boos for the other teams.

Yankee fans booed A-Rod because they don't feel he lives up to the expectations that are placed on him.
A-Rod is a great player and I hope he opts out of his contract after this season and goes to a team where he is appreciated.
Unfortunately Yankee fans don't appreciate what they have. He did win an MVP award there already. The booing isn't desirved. The reason the Yankees haven't won the series lately isn't solely A-Rods fault. Who wouldn't that affect after a while?

We booed Arod because no matter how much success he may have with the Yankees, he does not belong there. Arod needs to be with some middle of the road team, Mariners, Rangers, Cubs (??????)..... with no pressure inorder to be succesfull.
Now, not everyone booed Alex. It was only true fans that can see whats going on that booed. Just watch the guy, during every at-bat he is stepping into the box tring to hit home runs. Watch him late in ball games with the game on the line, Alex comes to the plate down by 4 with no one on, and tries to do what....just get on base and pass the bat, no not Alex. He swings for the fences with the intention of hitting a 5 run homer with no one on.
This is why we boo Alex. And in this fans case is the reason I will continue to boo him.

Yankees fans who boo A-Rod are idiots!! I'm a Yankees fan, and I've got his back until the very end!
By the way, what "problem" do A-Rod and Jeter have with each other. That incident in practice? HELLO!! COMPLETELY ISOLATED!!!!

Yankee fans love to Boo-- it's a form of cheering for them. :)
But seriously, I'm not a Yankee fan, but I do think it is part of the multimillion dollar job to take the fan reaction-- whatever it is, and turn it into something positive to improve your game. Everyone on that team gets booed from time to time, but some-- like Jeter for example is able to eat it up and not make excuses. Jeter annoys me to death, but I do respect that about him.

because fans tend to be stupid, but it's understandable that they'd be frustrated when this guy is suppose to bring a championship and doesnt. and i see lots of red sox fans saying the wouldnt boo their players which is a lie. im a huge sox fan and although we wouldnt boo ortiz or manny, we have booed bellhorn, killar, foulke, renteria, among MANY others
