I am 26 years old, people almost always respect me when I go out in public, but recently I have been going through a phase where I feel old. Not out of place, bu sometimes I look at younger people who dress similar and I feel weird, though I am just being myself. I don't wear punk or rock tshirts anymore, I got those in the back of the closet :p, but I do wear shirts like emily the strange or stuff like that sometimes, also wear hoodies. I don't wear baggy pants anymore, I don't over accessorize but I do wear a few rings, small choker, and I do wear studded or colored belts. I wear shoes like converse & creepers, and I don't put buttons on my purse or jacket anymore though I have one on there. I don't dye my hair anymore, but I think a dark maroonish color is ok for me. I've never heard anyone tell me I need to dress my age, but I just feel weird sometimes. So I keep my style without overdoing it. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated!

No I don't feel you dress young for your age.
But if you are feeling something, I'd say listen to it. Do u feel like you need a change? Then got for it.

Maybe try different styles and see which one feels more like what you want. Experimenting in clothes and styles is fun. We all change as we grow. Look at fashion magazines, and see who u admire...whose clothes look good....and go ahead and find similar versions and styles for yourself. Or look at people around you and notice what makes them look good in what they are wearing. We learn a lot by observation.

Your style looks uniquely your own though. But make sure u do dress according to the occassion.

It's just a phase trust me, and it comes and goes for a couple years. I recently turned 28 and I had the same feelings for forever it felt like, but I was told time and time again that age is just a number. Be you.

it sounds like you are dressing perfectly for a 26 year old! you are not old. you may have to change your style a bit by the time you are 50 but for now you are still plenty young enough to be wearing that stuff. have confidence!

i don't think from your description that there is anything wrong with the way u dress for your age. u sound like u are a trendy dresser and i see nothing wrong with that. as long as it is done with style. i am 33 and still wear hoodies and converse shoe. nothing wrong with it. and as far as the hair color goes depending on you i think that hair color would look pretty hot myself..

you should just be yourself and not care what other people think about your style. dress the way you want and wear what you like. (although it would be kinda scary if you wore a disney t shirt or something like that.)

Hey dont worry about it. Age is just a number, and the important part is that you look and feel good in your own eyes.

It sounds to me like your doing just fine. If you feel you look nice that is all that matters. You can't dress for everyone but yourself. Good luck
