Hm... first off, there would be no tabloids. Second, people would talk a lot less (and thankfully, those gossipers who talk way too fast would probably go mute). Third, we would be able to believe that all information we recieved would be cold fact. However, this is impossible and implies that mankind would have to know everything. So, it won't ever happen. I'm sad too, luv.
Unless you mean that to not gossip would be to not pass on information, which could be bad. Because some of the things you hear or are told to you are factual and telling them helps. i.e. if you heard someone intended on committing suicide and you didn't tell and it turned out that they were right.
Well, CNN, Access Hollywood, The National Enquirer, the living section of the newspaper, all would either suffer or cease to exist.
And paparazzi would be out of jobs.
Gossip, we must admit, provides a lot of financial aid and is v. important to our economy.
So, while gossip is bad and hurtful, it does serve it's purpose. Hope that helps.

Well Gossip is another form of Drama ..which is the new plague by the way...
I think that although allot of positive things would come from a "Gossip Free World" there would be some things that would not benefit us
...imagine the guy that thinks he can sleep with everyone well he has a STD and is spreading it around like a wild fire one girl finds out she got something from him and she will spread the word that he is a ---- eventually the gossip will get around and hopefully stop other girls from spreading the virus
I feel in most cases gossip is a means of informal information some mean harm when releasing it other just like to talk
its more of a people on people news..

It would be great for the "underdog" in social situations... the one that they are all jealous of secretly... the person who is never given a fair shot because the others are clever and use gossip to secretly destroy them.
However - on the negative side - no murder would EVER be solved and convicted.
How far would discretionary honesty go before it became gossip in this imaginary world?
How easily could you warn your friends and family about people who wish to do them harm?
You would find out way too late that your husband was cheating on you or that your kids had been snorting crystal meth.

People would be a lot happier and would probably spend their time talking about constructive things rather than things that would hurt others.
