Tough question. Marriage is because you've found someone you love and want to spend the rest of your life with.
then again, celibacy is because you're waiting for the right person who you finally feel comfortable to do this with and that gives off the feeling of a fresh breath and that you know you CAN wait and that is incredibly gratifying.

Both at different times in your life. There is definitely a time for the clarity that celibacy can bring you, but marriage has been wonderfully fulfilling for me...and it has lasted much longer (23 years) than my period of celibacy.

Obviously can't respond on the celibate part, but can say that
marraige can, and often dooes give you a partner that's more a
part of you than you are yourself. You're never alone or lonely -
if you have children it expands horizons to the nth degree.
Celibacy has rewards I'm sure, but I can't imagine feeling
complete as a single man -- let alone a celibate one.

Depends on the phase of your life. Infancy through the teenage years, celibacy. No STD's or emotional hangups, no babies having babies. Young adults, older adults, in between adults, marriage if it suits both parties. Estrogen and Testosterone seem to have a small say in this.

Neither one of them. Marriage is an obsolete institution and celibacy goes against one of the most basic needs of a living creature. You need to breathe, you need to sleep, you need to eat, you need to have sex. To deprive yourself of any of those needs will affect negatively your life.
But at the end, for both of them, it's a personal choice. Anyone has the right to ruin her/his own existence.

I don't think you can compare marriage to celbacy. But, if your trying to decide whether to remain celibate while dating or marry just to have sex, I would say stay celibate. You don't get married just to have sex and marriage is MUCH more than lovey dovey feelings.

I haven't been married but have been celibate. I prefer to be sexually active even though I am not married.
The two don't correlate. An unmarried person doesn't have to be celibate.
