What does the NFL do with the throwback uniforms and equipment when they switch back to the regular unifroms?

Specifically, what do the San Diego Chargers do with their uniforms and helmets after they wear their powder blue uniforms and the different helmets?

The alternate/third uniform can only be used twice bro.

Alternate or throwback uniforms can be used 3 times a season...at the end of the season most teams will have a sale of the used equipment or uniforms....other teams auction off the stuff for charity...each team is different.

As I understand it, any equipment not being used anymore goes to NFL auction, the proceeds going to various charities and such.
