The best player as of today is by far Kevin Durant. He's an unnatural scorer for a big man. He stretches the interior defense with his outside game and his ability to take a slower big man off the dribble. I say he's the best right now because Greg Oden is tearing it up with his non-dominant hand. When he is fully healthy he will be a far better player than Durant.

Wow. Alot of you must not actually watch basketball. Seems that you hear reporters say that KD and GO are the best and well your on the band wagon now. Personally I do believe that they are both great players and there stats are ridiculous. Lets take a closer look at Texas...Who's on there team? Hmm I might give you DJ but other than that it's the KD show...How about Ohio State?...Hmm no other players there, just big GO. Now how can you say that they are Freshman of the year? What have they proved? They are the best on the team and the team's only go to guy. Any player with above avg skill placed on a team where they are the "it factor" they should put up ridiculous stats. My freshman of the year is a freshman who is playing with a team that already has a star and is still putting up decent numbers. That is a freshman of the year. A guy who comes in not being No. 1 or 2 and goes out and puts up 15ppg and close to 10rpg if your a big guy or has alot of assists. Get off the KD and GO bandwagon...They are great because they get the ball all the time...

I think it has to be Kevin Durant at Texas. He absolutely dominated Tx Tech last week (37 points, 23 rebounds) and averages 25 points and 11 boards a game. Has pretty good post up game, great range, and plays very good defense. Oden is good, but Durant is an absolute stud! Plus Oden looks like he's frickin 40!

aimcopyce...

You never made a point or picked a player...if a freshman comes in averaging a double double, he would get as much coverage as Durant or Oden...bottom line. No way around it. For me, I watch at least 2 or 3 college basketball games a night, these 2 stand out not only as freshmen, but as players in any class and will unfortunately only be in the college game for 1 season.

without question its none other than KD, Kevin Durant of Texas. his numbers are amazing and he just recently had a 30 pt 20 reb game. he is good enough to impress the legendary bob knight. he is already being compared as the next tracy mcgrady. 6-10, 220, with great quickness and shooting ability.
oden has been injured and thus hasnt been playing his best. so its KD, #1 draft pick if he declares I guarantee it.

Greg Oden is the main focus of rookies, but Kevin Durant is easily the best freshman in the country.

He grew to become into participant of the 365 days as a junior, yet no person might have envisioned the fulfillment he had as a expert. He grew to become into prepared on the 0.33 p.c.. of the draft and there grew to become into no controversy in any respect. He grew to become into not a celeb with the gang that gained the nationwide identify. He grew to become right into a freshman starter, yet Sam Perkins and James worth have been the celebs.

That's easy...Kevin Durant from Texas...averaging only 33 pts/game recently...not to mention almost 12 reb/game including 23 against Texas Tech...Bob Knight was pissed, haha

As much as it pains me to say it, it is probably Greg Oden from Ohio State. They are a few other good ones though.
