Yeah, thats supposed to happen. That's cuz it's searching for music on ur computer. When you wanna disconnect it, just hit the little button next to the ipod pic. on your itunes, (over near your playlists) then that screen will go away. and you can disconnect it.

Yes, It does that to all Ipods, I have an Ipod nano and it always does that, its normal.
All it means is not to disconnect when uploading music to your ipod, because it can delete all your music.

heres how you disconnect when your ipod is plugged in that box comes up on your screen with your name like chris ipod and below that it says your music, well right beside of your ipods name is a little black circle with the eject symbol on it , click on the little circle and wait a second, the light will come on on your ipod, then the do not disconnect will disappear then its safe to unplug

or if u wanna take it out there is a little eject sign by where it says ur ipods name on the left side where the liabry is

Yes. You probably have the settings on your iTunes to update whenever it plugs in. If that is the case, your iPod needs to update before you can unplug it or it won't be up to date. When it is finished, it will revert back to the main menu.

Yes, that is normal for all of the Apple mp3 players.
If you disconnect it without selecting the eject option you may corrupt or harm the data that is being tranferred to the device.
