We just bought a hamster (although it died because of stress or so the pet store said) and he enjoyed being held for the first few days. He started biting us a couple of days before he died and did nothing but sleep even in the night. "Petco" people said he probable didn't feel well and was biting and sleeping to feel better and that was his way of saying leave me along and let me try to get better. Good luck with this!!!!!!!!!!

It is almost unheard of for a roborovski to bite! It must be stressed. Have you heard them fighting or seen an bite wounds? The easiest thing to do would be to separate the two into their own cages.

Dwarves can be a bit hard in that many sources say that they can be housed together but in actuality it is more a personality thing. Some are happy to cohabitat, while others be best living by themselves.

If one of your robs is much more dominant over the other and is attacking it, then the submissive one is just living in fear. Being in constant fear is what caused it to bite you. It could also have been the dominant one that bit you. The dominant female is in a constant "defend my territory" mind set and you may have gotten a taste at what she's dishing out to her cagemate. You'll make both of their lives much happier by giving each of them their own home.

If you purchased them from a pet store most likely they are both male. Hampsters will not cohabitate with other adult males and will infact attack and kill the other!! (Even litermates). I suggest two seperate cages. A divider won't work as they will spend the majority of the time trying to get at the other and that can potentially lead to problems also. They are great pets though, Good luck!!

Were they littermates? Because if not, you may have trouble.

By saying "one isn't pregnant", do you mean the other one is?

If they aren't littermates, you may have to separate them. If they continue to fight anyway, you won't have any choice but to separate them (or lose one or both of them).
