If you are looking for something cheap yet powerful tryout AMD dual core cpus. But if you want something expensive and for gaming purposes try Intel dual core series. Remember that it has to be dual core to handle the pressure you are going to put on it.

The best one out there for laptop or PC is the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, hands down.

Intel's Core 2 Duo. When customizing your laptop from Dell (which you asked about a minute ago) you can get one of these in it. It performs wonderfully, because it is actually two processors and one, so your computer won't freeze up as much.

Hope that helps!

for gaming, i would go for an AMD athlon 4000+ (at least). Well, im running an athlon 3700+ and vista and it goes a treat!

boots in 30 secs!..

The core duo's look nice.. might upgrade..
but i love my athlon!

Check ebuyer, they sell the NEWEST - INTEL QUAD-CORE!

thats a sh*t load of proc power..

but... its like £600 :p

Good Luck

Depends on what you are running on it. Always determine software needs first, then buy the best hardware it recommends.
