I used to watch it too, though I was in my 20's at the time, so I must be older than you! LOL! I've got most of them on video tape, starting from episode 1. I recorded it through the night and edited the ads and the recap later, so it ran like a continuous story. Unfortunately, someone pinched my VCR, so I couldn't record it any more. I was GUTTED!
Incidentally, for those asking about the song lyrics, they went like this:
He used to give me roses, I wish he could again, but that was on the outside, and things were different then.
CHORUS: On the inside the sun still shines, and the rain falls down, but the sun and rain are prisoners too, when morning comes around.
We built our world together, with a love so clear and strong, but that was on the outside, where did I go wrong?
CHORUS
Last night I dreamed we were together, sharing all the love we know, till I had to face the nightmare, of waking up alone.
On the inside the roses grow, they don't mind the stony ground, but the roses here are prisoners too, when morning comes around.
He used to give me roses, I wish he could again, but that was on the outside, and things were different then.

Wow! - that is a blast from the past!!!!!!
Here is the song how I remember it but can only recall a bit of it:
Feilds to give me roses,
I wish they could again,
but that was on the outside and things were different then.
On the inside, the roses grow,
and the rain it falls down..........
rain and snow and christmas too????????
I was about 14 when I used to watch it with my school friend and we would pretend that she was Bea and I was Doreen!. I think that they were repeats because Prisoner Cell Block H was made and casted in the seventies but re-televised in the eighties and I began watching it from about 1987 when I was 14 and you could tell it was an old programme with all that green colour in it!.
I doubt if it will be re-televised again but you can buy the entire series on dvd at either play.com or sausage.net or sendit.com.
You can get almost anything you remember from childhood on these sites and I bought the wheelies, the flumps and the original Heidi series from 1978! - I was five years old when I used to watch that and so couldn't beleive I could watch it all again on dvd!.
Prisoner Cell Block H was my favourite tv series and I could never get enough of it! - I wish they could play it again but if not, then buying it on dvd is the next best option I guess?.
Hope I have helped? .........Do you remember old Vinegar **** and meg the prisoner officers?. I loved Lizzy Birdsworth the best.

There was nothing else on, was there? My favourite was Lizzie Birdsworth. Though I also liked Frankie the Gay.
