The best thing about the DS Lite is it is slimmer and lighter. It does look better but that doesn't necessarily make it "better" in my opinion.

The DS Lite plays the same games as the regular DS.

The best thing about the DS Lite over the regular DS is the brightness. The screen is much easier to see. As for the wi-fi, you just need to be near to a wireless router to play people via the internet. Being near another DS also lets you play that person wirelessly.

I have 2 in my family. My 2 sons have one each. I am a dad that has been gaming for over a decade. 2 things come in play when you look at games. The GPU or graffic processor unit, and the game play-fun. The DS has a huge amount of fun games for all ages. Any Mario game is fun period. Mario has been around along time. He is the "face" of the Nintendo corporation. We Super mario cart racing. This game is wifi so you can play against another player head to head ( called ad-hoc) or play head to head against some one through an internet connection (infrastructure). I played Mario Cart against a kid from England one night. I thought "wow this is the future"! My boys play Mario cart against kids all over the world. Basically, the DS has more fun games for kids. The nintendo wii is the same way. Its not the very best graffics but the fun factor is the best! I have a PSP myself. I play alot of football and war games so its more on my tastes. I do play the DS very often though!
