Never click OK on a popup. Just hit the X in the top right corner.

You've got SpyWare. You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

These are cleanup tools. Ad-aware cleans files, and SpyBot cleans the registry.

Go to START and pick RUN. Type MSCONFIG and hit OK. Go to the startup section and UNCHECK several of the programs that you do not need. (if you are running Windows 98 or ME, you will just have to live with it).

Yes, open MY COMPUTER and right click on your C drive and pick PROPERTIES. Go to the TOOLS section and use CHECK NOW. Check both tests, then restart your computer to run the full test.

Use Disk Cleanup from the SYSTEM TOOLS section of ACCESSORIES.

Then run DEFRAG from the SYSTEM TOOLS section of ACCESSORIES.

Right Click on MY COMPUTER and pick the Advanced section. Look for your Virtual Memory section and assign more Disk space for this. You might get fewer LOW VIRTUAL MEMORY warnings by setting it to 2048. That's 2GB of Disk space reserved for this. (You have plenty).

But if you don't have 512MB of RAM, you need more. You see, Windows Updates and Anti-virus definitions really clog things up. You have to have these, so as time goes on, you need MORE RAM. Visit http://www.coastmemory.com and look up your computer. These people guarantee RESULTS.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

You have already run virus scans so you should feel secure that it is not a virus. You may just need to clean it up.

A clean computer is key to a faster computer. Run the 3 scans below.

Update and run your Anti-Virus program. Don't have one? You can run a free online scan from CA.
http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx

Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/ . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.

Download, update and run Adaware---http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/products/select_your_product.php

Now lets clean up your registry.

Download RegScrubXP--http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?d...

Safely cleans junk out of the Windows 2000/XP system registry. All changes made to the registry are fully restorable to it's original condition. You can make an exclusion list of registry entries that RegScrubXP will not display as problems. You can sift through a list of file extensions, company names, run upon startup programs, Internet Explorer history, and uninstall programs to delete what you think is junk.

Download CleanUp---http://www.stevengould.org/software/clea...

Free disk space, make your computer run better/faster and protect your privacy - all in one easy solution. All for free!

Now lets clean up your disk.

Do a Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrag. You can find both of them by following the path below.
Start>all programs>accessories>system tools>Disk Cleanup. Let it do its thing. You can check every box that has something to delete.
Now follow the same path and do a Disk Defrag. Again just let it do its thing.

Now lets tweak your connection.

There are many programs out there to do this. I will give you 2 of them.
The first one is TCP Optimizer.

Description: The TCP Optimizer is a free, easy Windows program that provides an intuitive interface for tuning and optimizing your Internet connection. There is no installation required, just download and run.

Make sure that all of your temp files/cookies are deleted, and then do a defrag of your system, it is very easy to do, just got to your start up button, go to all programs, choose accessories, then choose system tools, and then choose disk defragmenter, when the window open, choose analyze. You should see a world of difference if that is your problem. If not, call a professional because your mother board maybe going bad..Good Luck
