a term that the British take seriously, or is it just a silly euphemism for...well...naughty bits? Is it a rude term -- one that I shouldn't use in front of my 97 year old grandma?

I just think it's a euphamism. suitable for use in anyone's company. I know someone that calls it "no-no place".
