If the eye is red also then it could be pink eye. It might be a clogged tear duct that the baby has and it will usually open up on its own but if it doesn't by 11 months old then the doctor will open it up. My son is 4 months old and has a clogged tear duct that he was born with and it still hasn't opened up. We are constantly wiping gunk off his eye but there isn't anything the doctor can do til he gets about a year old.

My 6 week old had the same thing, I thought it was a clogged duct, because her eyes weren't red, just a corner of her eyelid. It is completely normal for them to get the discharge, but you do want to go to her pediatrician and they will swab her eye and test for bacteria. I didn't think it was anything to worry about, but it turns out there was bacteria in there so now I have to give her eyedrops for a few days and will wonder forever if she ends up needing glasses if it's just daddy's genes or the fact I waited a week and a half to see her doctor. Good luck!

They may likely have some sort of respiratory infection - many kittens from rescue agencies get these. Some bunce out of them without medical atention, some don't. You obviously care for the little darlings and I suggest that a vet appointment to have them checked for everything already is in order. In the meantime, clean their eyes with cotton balls dipped in sterilized warm water with a pinch of ordianry table salt melted into it. This will help regress or actually prevent bacterial growth. Good luck.

Sounds like conjuctivitis (aka pink eye). Get him to the doctor ASAP as this is very contagious & make sure you launder his bedding, etc. right away.
