Am looking for a vacation destination within the U.S. - away from the Pacific NW (that's where I live)...something inexpensive, relaxing & not snowy!

I'd suggest the northern Arizona region.
If you're wanting to escape the rat race and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the great outdoors with awesome wide open spaces and breathtaking views, this is it.

La. Get a cheap hotel near the beach, Sag's usually love their sun, visit the hollywood strip\hollywood hills. It's a good time from what i hear.

I went on a cruise up the New England coast. I LOVED IT!! going to do it again

ok well i LOVE LOVE LOVE the SUN and of course beaches. i also absolutely love FLORIDA. so ther u go. unless u like more island lik things lik the virgin islands!!
