what do I need to disable in my PC (Win XP) to be able to download attachments sent to my Yahoo account?

No matter if I use Firefox or IE, I have no Virus or adware

When are you having a problem?
I just sent myself a message from another account with an attached message, opened the message in Yahoo, clicked on the link for attachment, it checked for viruses, and I got the standard Internet Download Window with OPEN SAVE CANCEL buttons and opened it.
