yes i think so because shaq is going to the All-Star and he has barely played any games. The All-Star game should be for the best players not the most popular players. Well usually if you're popular your good, but shaq has the lowest points scored, rebounds, and blocks of any starting Center in the East that not been significantly injured, so they should go to the All-Star before Shaq because the contributed more to their team then shaq did. Also, Shaq's team isn't even competeting well in the Eastern Conference. That's jus one example, but i'm sure there wil be more people going to the All-Star game just because of their popularity and not by the way they are playing. So yes there should be a rule saying you have to play a certain amount of games before you can be eligable for playing in the All-Star game

The NBA knows the fans control the game and that is what the all star game is all about. Its for the fans not the league. The all star game is useless its just for entertainment, its just an exhibitation game. If there are many players that fans do not want to see then how will the NBA generate revenue for the all star weekend. Fans would rather see a popular player than the best player in a conference its that simple. Perfect example Vince Carter is always injured but always makes the all star team you why because he fans want to see him its that simple. So now if the NBA makes a rule about missed games and it affects a popular player this could decrease attendence and ratings for this game. Its all about money at the end of the day. The NBA is a business just like any other company even though its a sports league. So I say no rule for missed games.

Yes. The NBA should state that a player must play at least 25 games to be eligible for the All-Star game. And if a player gets injured and is noted as out past the All-Star game, that player should be taken off the ballot.
Ex. Shaq only played 4 games before the ballots were closed, he doesn't even deserve to be in the All-Star game and he's starting.
Ex. Carlos Boozer isn't going to play in the All-Star game due to injury, but coaches put him on the team.

No, I don't think so.
If Kobe, Lebron, or Arenas get injuried for 20 games before the all-star, and then returning play great basketball, isn't it not fair for them to miss the all-star?
If you are talking about Carmelo Anthony, he does deserves to be an all-star, but the fight was his fault, and there's so many other choices in the west.

Not sure if there is a rule or not but I'm leaning toward there not being a rule. The fans vote for basically who they want to vote for.

it really is b/c Sidney Crosby went to the position the followers wanted him to be. He develop into there to signal autographs and be an element of the festivities, unlike Datsyuk and Lidstrom. in the experience that they confirmed as a lot as signal autographs and there for the followers then they does no longer were suspended. i'm happy they did because the CBJ edged Detroit in OT very last evening. :-)
