Start in Greece, if you visit the island of Corfu, you can take a day trip to Albania with a tour included, then you can decide whether to take the boat back or stay a while longer.

Unless things have changed a whole lot they won't even let you into Albania, with a USA Passport.

Yes, but whatever you do, don't go to the north. The roads are a nightmare and it's like entering a time wharp.

If it was ,then all the Albanians here would spend their vacations there and not in the trucks that illegally transport them in Greece!

It's pretty, historic and cheap. Caution should be used when travelling at all times, no matter where in the world you are. You won't regret the trip.
