Last night, my son (20 years old), and a few of his friends were over. They were talking about going to the store and buying one. And I told them they were not allowed to bring it in the house. They asked me why, and that turned into an hour long conversation. A long time ago, we had a board, and we were using it, and I asked a question that only I... and I do mean that only I knew the answer to. And it worked, and it did for others around the table as well. I got paranoid, and that night I just wanted to get rid of the board. I wanted it out of the house haha.. I didn't want to throw it away for fear it would be a bad omen.. well I knew we were moving soon to another place, so I just put it in a closet, and when we moved, I left it there.. thinking "whew" Is there anybody else out there who has had an ouija board really work?? and if not spirits, what else could have made that thing move?

Experience, they say, is the best teacher. You have had a first-hand experience with the oiuja board, and I believe you have been warned about the potential danger you can expose yourself and other members of your family to. You were right when you insisted your children should not bring one home.

I wish there was a better way to tell you but the truth, as explained by those who really know, is that ouija boards are potentially harmful to the spiritual health of those who use them.

Ouija board

Bearing a name said to be derived from the French (oui) and German (ja) words for “yes,” the Ouija board is simply a flat, smooth board bearing the letters of the alphabet, numbers, and often the words “Yes,” “No,” “Maybe,” and “Goodbye.” A hand-sized, heart-shaped device perched upon three short legs, each of which has a pad or wheel to enable the instrument to slide freely across the board, is known as the planchette. This is used as a pointer, the tapered end of the heart shape indicating letters on the board.

One or more operators sit around the board, each lightly resting fingers upon the top of the planchette. It is said that spirits or other entities cause the planchette to move about the board, spelling out messages and answers to questions posed by the operators. (This process is a form of “dactylomancy,” or divination by means of finger motions.)

Actually, the movement is due to the ideomotor effect and this can be shown by the fact that when the operator is properly blindfolded, only gibberish is produced.
The Ouija board was patented in 1892 by a Maryland novelty company.

I have had crazy experiences with them as well. I had a skeptical friend walk up and ask if it was real "how much change do i have in my pocket?" it answered correctly which freaked him out and then my bro in law asked what they used to call his mother and it answered correctly and he was the only one who knew and he wasn't on the board at that time. Also, it would say it was the devil and then it was a spirit of a young boy named stevie who was killed in a car accident. I mean it was crazy and I still think they are opening a world to spirits and are not good.

I've a friend who used one, that was up until the thing you put your hands on started moving with no hands touching it at all. She was a teenager then. Her friends tried to burn it, but the board wouldn't burn. So, they buried it where it could do no harm.

One thing you never ask though is to see the spirit of the board. I had a friend in highschool who was stupid enough to ask that. He saw it go past the window too.

These spirits, not always harmless ones, can use the boards as a gateway into our world. Ouija boards should be left alone. I've seen and felt spirits around since I was a young child, but even I don't like the Ouija boards. They give me the creeps.

You dont have much to worry about unless the old board you left at the old house appears in the closet in the new house you moved in to. THEN you might wanna worry about it.

yes it does work for sure.but it is the spirits that's making it move.you know, the cursor.but anyway,it is not dangerous unless you use it in the wrong way.if you ask it a negative question than thats what it is gonna give ya.i have one of my own and have had it for three years now.i have never asked it a negative question and i get good results.you gotta respect the spirit world or you will be tortured by them.

I have used them as a teen but haven't for years. I agree that using them isn't a good thing. It is like opening a door and letting just anyone in reguardless of whether they are good or out to do harm. There are other ways of divination that are alot safer like Tarot, crystal balls and such.

yeah, they work. My Mom used one and asked who her next boyfriend would be. And the letters spelled, DEVIL. And a couple years later, she met some guy who's last name was the word DEVIL except scrambled up differently. Kinda freaked her out. My sis tried it. She said it didnt work tho.

I usually advise people NOT to use them - people can be very susceptible to "vibes" especially if done in the evenings after dark. That is the same reason most people are told not to use crystal balls except in the daytime. We are all more suggestible
to things after dark - just good old primordial fears in action!
