there is not any "treatment", colic isn't an ailment - a minimum of not in human beings, horses are some thing else. In human babies colic in basic terms describes the a good distance end of the spectrum of a sprint guy or woman who cries extra then maximum and is in the conventional variety of habit for an infant. approximately one in 6 infants have colic as defined by the three hours of crying, 3 days each week for 3 weeks - throughout ALL cultures regardless of nutrition plan and medical care, an infant only might desire to strengthen out of the habit. There are some issues that help - strolling the newborn, putting the newborn in a stroller and going for a stroll or consistent with probability acontinual, a swing specifically circumstances facilitates, swaddling facilitates, vacuuming specifically circumstances facilitates (the noise), giving the newborn a bath. Heck take a bath with the newborn in its crib with the fan on so which you will get a ruin works (if the newborn is crying and you have fed and altered the newborn, it is not too warm nor too chilly, then positioned the newborn down for a ruin). only remember there is not something you probably did incorrect to reason this, there is not something incorrect with that infant that element won't restoration, that's generic and take a super breath. it is going to likely be ok!

Most will say that there isn't a cure for colic, but I believe that there are ways that can help. I found that my son had a lot of gas when they said he had colic. I would put him stomach down on my legs and gently pat his back and that seemed to really help. I haven't tried it myself, but gripe water is sup post to work wonders.

Yeah try what Kate L said that worked for my god daughter. Also, i know its not what the doctor would recommend but i bet a grandparent would (i think they used a different alcohol though) but a bit of Stella on your finger or dummy clears colic straight away and is no harm to your baby!

Gripe water or colic drops can be used.

My baby is breastfed and if he gets colic I find putting him on the breast helps. Sucking seems to help some babies, whther its suckling on the breast or on a soother/pacifier or a finger.

infacol - cracking stuff - give it to bubs just before a bottle and it helps with the wind. Massage also helps to move the bubbles in the colon in to one big one that they can pass a little easier. The one that my HV suggested was stroking down their tummy three times, then lift their knees to their chest for 5 seconds, then rub their tummy in a circular direction - once one way with one hand then ther other with the other, lift their knees to their chest again and hold for 5 seconds. Repete the process 3 times. - Good luck, i know it is hard at the moment but is does go away.

Not to my knowledge you just have to do the best with "old wives" remedies. Infacol didn't work for mine. I don't think you can buy gripe water from the chemist nowadays but try. Keep their tummy warm, rub their back, lay them on their back and VERY GENTLY, holding them by the ankles, push their legs up towards their chest, this can release trapped wind. iT IS quite demoralising to not be able to stop your baby's pain but don't blame yourself it is very very common and will stop as their system matures. It starts around the 6 week mark.

no sorry hun. its the worst thing isnt it. the only thing you can do is try the baby with some detonox in the bottle or gripe water if over the age of 3 months. give gentel tummy massage with some baby oil ,a warm bath in the evening or a car ride may help to sooth the baby. also, look into the babys milk,if your not breast feeding.sometimes the formular maynot agree with him/her.

Try massaging the stomach clockwise. Also moving his legs in a bicycle action can also help colic symptoms. worked for me.

I used to give my daughter colief, you can get it from pharmacies but my daughter had terrible colic for 6 months and was also advised to switch to soya formula milk which my daughter didn't like.
