I don't know what kind of computer you have and maybe you just got it or something but unless things have changed drastically or are just very different on your computer as opposed to mine my mouse doesn't plug into a usb port like your ipod would or an mp3 player the mouse plugs into it's very own specific port on mine, and not only that I have more than one usb port I have about 3 or 4 of them if not more between the front and the back of the computer, anyways hope that that helps you some, also how old is your computer? maybe it is still under warranty and if so you can call for tech support or get it fixed from the store you bought it at

If you are confident enough to take off the cover, just remove it and look for the usb port, follow the cable from where you plug in your ipod to where it plugs into the motherboard, it may just be loose. Oh, and unplug the system first!

That means the USB port isn't working. You could check the BIOS but I think it is a hardware issue. Sorry but, it can't be fixed. The USB is integrated to the motherboard.

The usb port could be bad and need replaced(most common reason)

you may want to have that port checked, otherwise buy a USB hub its this thing that has four ports in it so now you have four usb ports instead of one
you can probably get one from circuit city or staples

If you mean a mains power receptacle, there is no such thing. If your device can use 5V at under 500ma, you can get or make a cable for it.
