We have decided to drive from NJ to Florida. On the way there we will stop half way at South Carolina at some place called Pedroland for the day. I cant firgure out where to stop on the way back. We can actually stay the night on the way back. Any ideas?

We dont ski. I was thinking something in Virginia, but its in February so it will be cold. I have a 13 year old and a 1 year old. We like museums. Living History. Weird highway stuff.

I did see a place for just tubing that sounded interesting.

Have you been to South of the Border (pedroland) before? It's nothing but stores and arcades.

We drive up and down from Virginia to FLorida a few times a year.

Savannah is a beautiful and historic city just off the highway. Wmsburg is far from 95, but Fredericksburg is right on 95, and has battlefields, George Washington-related attractions, and a very walkable 'old towne' historic district. Petersburg is also along 95 and has historical attractions.

If you take 295 around Richmond, while travelling on 95, you will pass exit for Rte 5, a scenic byway. This road leads to magnificent old plantation houses, like Shirley Plantation, which are wonderful for touring - and if this February is as warm as last February, you'll love the gardens on the river.

Check out the following in South Carolina: Beaufort (there's a lot of history here and also USMC Paris Island), Charleston (another city covered in history. If you have time take your 13 year old on a ghost walk), Myrtle Beach.

In Flordia check out St. Augustine (the oldest civilized city in the US).

In Georgia Check out Savannah. It rivials Charleston in history. Plus its fun and romantic!

The 13 year old would enjoy Williamsburg. I don't know what to tell you for a one year old.
