Meow girl gives wonderful n sound advice.

For me I do many of those things as well: take a walk, read, get quiet, remember to breathe. Just following your breath is a powerful tool for experiencing peace. It's natural and has a rhythm that calms me.

Also, being around nature gives me much peace, and thinking of peaceful moments help. Oh, writing looong novels for answers calms me! lol.

If you get a chance just lay down and breathe and bring awareness to your body. What sensations do you feel? Just rest in whatever is there. Soften around any tensions you may have.....listen.....just sense the peace that you are....remember: no matter how stressed you get, there is always a part of you that is beyond it all....you ARE peace at your core....the waves may be churning and there may be storms on the surface of the ocean but at the bottom it is very calm.....you don't have to try and calm the waves, just breathe and sink to the bottom....

Just rest in that calmness......bring awareness to your heart area and breathe into it.....you are more than the waves.....

Much peace to you my friend. I'll be sending you peaceful thoughts :))

Mostly I walk daily and stay in that zen grove where there is peace in my own thoughts.

I get a deeper peace looking at a body of water, like a lake or a bay and feeling it's serenity envelope my mood. I'd reach this sense of calmness and inner peace similar to being in the center of the eye in the middle of storm.

Recently I've looked into my fiancees portrait and I've felt it there to. That never happened to me before.

Prayers to God helps for sure, but these other sources have always been there as well. Have a good one.

I like to go into my room, read a book while listening to my favorite music.

I'll sometimes write down every thought that comes to mind. (it usually seems choppy if i read it over later on). I usually feel better after this (assuming i was stressed out).

After i have relaxed i'll walk around my yard, maybe sit on a log in my back yard and just think. Maybe lie on the ground and look at the sky. Think about ways to improve my life, my character, how i present myself, etc.

This all makes me feel good about myself, and i believe that to have peace, you must feel.....comfortable. Like be happy with your life, even if there is stress that comes with it, well, that's the way it works.

find a quiet place to sit, close my eyes, and practice "mindful breathing" -- a zen practice -- for five to fifteen minutes.

listen to peaceful music

turn off the news programs

make peaceful drawings

take a drive or a walk in a quiet place -- with lots of trees.

sit with a cat or puppy on my lap and pet them until they fall asleep

I try to stop talking so much and listen. I had laryngitis several months ago, so I did a lot of listening. Things were much more peaceful then. I was a more gentle person.

for some reason, i go very quiet myself..i talk less and try to spend some alone 'me' time...go for a walk, play with my dog, read a nice book, sometimes watching the sunset gives me a feeling of peace, looking at old photographs somehow always makes me smile...or just closing my eyes and breathing deeply makes me feel better....

a wonderful, peaceful weekend to you moonriver :)

To feel the state of peace you must develop your internal state of mind
Peace is found within your heart and soul. Look within to realise it
