I'm 16 years old and low on cash so I was hoping to make something creative for my boyfriend maybe using candy or something like that. I would really apreciate anyone who could give me some ideas on this. I was thinking of getting some hersheys hugs and kisses and decorating a box with hearts and things and putting the candy in there, I also thought of putting a note saying "For everytime I'm not around, here's a hug and a kiss" so would that be a good idea? Any way if you have any other ideas i would really apreciate it!!!

I really like that idea with the box of kisses and hugs! Craft stores have really cute, plain boxes that you could decorate. You could scan in photos of you two and cover the box with them.

Another homemade gift, if you sew, or even if you iron: you can put your photo on a pillowcase, so when he sleeps, he is right there next to you. They have iron on pages for your computer printer, iron them on a plain pillowcase, and there you go, homemade and thoughtful too.

Generally anything you make carries with it sentimental value and shows that you care more because you took the time and effort to think of him, and your boyfriend will appreciate that, that is if your boyfriend is worth anything.

Steak might be a little too expensive, but the other anwser hit on something true about us guys... we like food. So you could bake him some cookies made in the shape of hearts. You could always make a home-made card and decorate it (to go with the cookies, of course). And if you put it in a tin or some kind of container he could use (so it would have to be masculine... no frilly foo foo stuff), that would be a bonus.

Your candy box idea sounds very good and very romantic. As you can see, you didn't need to ask us for ideas.

A good way of reinventing your kisses chocolates is to mold it into something different like a flower or a heart. It's really simple and very affordable.

All you need to have is a plastic molder with the shape of the rose or heart, you can get one from local craft shops or maybe they have it in the grocery. Then, a lollipop stick, (depending on how many molds you'd like to make)the stove, non-stick pan and a lot of patience.

First, you need to heat the pan using the stove (of course) and put in about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of water (depends on the quantity of the chocolate). Just as the water boils, crush all the chocolates you need and then put it in the pan when the water reaches its boiling point.

Then, mix the chocolate until it turns thick,

Next, take the molder, put in the lollipop stick in its place and pour the chocolate liquid in the molder.

You can do this till you have used up the chocolate on all the molds and then put the molds in the freezer for about 30 minutes.

After that, detach the chocolate from the plastic molder and scrape the extras on the sides of the chocolate mold to give it a clean look.

You can then decorate your chocolate flowers and hearts, label them each with your thoughts for your boyfriend or arrange them like a boquet!

Hope you have a great Valentine's Day!

How about a Valentines Card from Valentine, Texas!

Basically you put your valentine in another envelope and send it to the Valentine post office, they open it, take out your envelope to your friend, hubby or loved one and put a special Valentines Day cancellation mark(different each year) and then mail it. It takes a few days especially the closer you get to valentines day so do it early!

The link below will give more details.

Happy Valentines

no offense but personally as a guy I dont like cheesy ideas or gifts... I think that you should order/make him a pizza in the shape of a heart with m&ms saying something (put them after it cools bc they melt) and rent a movie and chill at home...good luck.

It depends on how old your boyfriend is, otherwise I would say that is a great idea. No frilly boxes!

That's really sweet, and it is exactly what Valentine's Day should be about.... the thought, not the expense!
