my physics teacher told me that jupiter is just a GIANT ball of gas
idk if we can use it, but if we can, that would be great
the question is, how would we do it?

Yes. Jupiter contains huge amounts of methane and hydrogen which can be used to produce energy. It's just too far away for us to reach with present technology to be cost effective.

Jupiter is huge alright - if it had just a little more mass, it would have been a star. It's on the verge of emitting light.

No. Their is only one way to reach it and that is to send a probe to get materials and that would cost billions a run and would take years. The tank for the resources if their is any useable ones would only hold a small amount has well. In the end, their is probably usable resources but we have no way to reach them efficiently enough for them to be worth anything to us.

the research and development required to even be able to begin such an operation make that an unrealisitc possibility right now
Not to mention the amount of money it would take to even get to jupiter.

No, not that I am aware. The best renewable sources of energy that are easiest to acquire include solar, wind, and ocean.

It would take more energy to go there and bring back hydrogen then we would gain by burning the hydrogen.
