Why support the troops?

They're not criminals. The political pigs put 'em there, just like they put me in Vietnam many years ago. Given the choice, most of them would be somewhere else. I support them because I know how they must feel. The damned Democrats sent my generation to Vietnam and then pulled the rug out from under us, and they're going to do the same thing to these kids today. I support the troops until hell freezes over. It's the political pigs who put 'em there, and won't support 'em who are the real criminals!

Well, there are two sides to every coin.... You can look at what these folks are doing in a negative of positive way. But unless you have taken a walk in there shoes none of us can really judge...

you first have to look at the military. It's kind of like high school with guns, there are your idiot punks who inlist just so they can shoot someone so they can feel more badass and there are your all around good people just wanting to do something for a country they love. and there is your average joe just trying to make ends meet and feels they really have no other option...
In my opinion this is a pointless war and many troops agree, but these troops are just doing their job wether they agree with it or not the government owns them at this point.
Alot of these people don't want to kill, they just wanted college money and got sucked in, but there is those idiots I spoke of before that I don't agree with.
Please don't come down so hard on these men and women serveing our country they are meerly doing a job, and all of us hate a certain job at some point but the bills still keep comming!

Because the troops has to go where they are told to go. You can support the troops but not actually support the war. Yes there are some troops who does not deserve to reprisent the US military much less the human race. But there are troops doing what they have to do because they were told to do it. Not all troops are criminals. if you want to call them criminals for what they have to do to stay alive then you need to call the one who sent them there a criminal.

Support them because they are brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, cousins. Husbands, wives. Because they are just like you. They have dreams, loves, families, jobs. But they are fighting to protect you, who cant even appreciate them in the least. My fiancee is in the National Guard and he will be sent to Iraq this year if Bush doesn't stop this madness.

I do not agree that we should be in iraq. I think we should stop meddling in everyone else's crap. I think we should bring our troops back, send them to their worried families, and leave Iraq alone. All we are doing is causing more strife.

*HOWEVER*, because you dont support the war is no reason to not support the troops. They are doing this for you, be grateful.

People around the world want you dead. You liberals need to wake up and smell the coffee. Most people in the Middle East don't have the "avoid conflict" "Western Style" thinking.

NUMBER 1 LESSON: People around the world don't have western style thinking. Many people in many countries want you dead. Take a class in Middle East cultural anthropology at a top university or read a book.

They are not pacifist liberals who are against inflicting pain against an innocent person.

are you refering to the ones that raped and killed that girl? those are some bad apples but any social institution has those. i offer support for the fact that they are doing a job i would never have the balls to do! regardless of politics aside they are serving us. i am a bif lefty anti bush zealot but don't hate the soldiers-they're just doing there jobs.

i agree with the first response. i'm far left, but i agree too many of my liberal cohorts are too passive when it comes to dealing with these people. they don't have "resolution" conflict like we have in our civilized world. they are hate mongers who will not stop until we make them stop. we'll win when we put them in their place.

I know you are asking this to see what the responses are ...so, I don't know if you are in the military.

But here's why...

They have the balls and courage to protect our Freedom...because, in case you haven't heard lately,
Freedom isn't Free.


They go from a wam snuggly bed snuggling with their spouse,
to a hard cot and sleeping with their weapon.
They go from "Yes Dear"
to "Yes Sir".
They go from going to church on Sundays...
to praying every second of their life.
They go from holding their babies in their arms...
to holding their buddies brains in their hands.
They go from eating home cooked meals...
to eating crap out of cans.
They go from teaching their children to stay away from guns....
to being trained on guns to protect all children.
They go from receiving presents at Christmas with their name on it from their loved ones....
to receiving bombs and bullets from those that hate us...hoping one doesn't !! have their name on it.
They go from walking into a bedroom at night to kiss the little ones to sleep....
to walking into total darkiness and maybe kissing death.
They go from their 9-5 job knowing they have a 99% chance of
getting home safe from work...
to the 1% chance of coming back home alive.

Why do I support our troops...??..
because.....they love Our Country and what it stands for ............so damn much !!!!
that they would die for it over
anything, anyone and everything else in their lives.

God Bless Our Troops and Keep Them Safe from Harm!!
