Ford is going to have a very difficult time coming back from their recent losses. If they are able to, it will be MANY years. GM was able to do well based on the brands they offer, ie, Cadillac, their Suburban, etc. Ford does not have anything in their line-up that grabs prospective buyers, with the exception of the F-150 line of trucks. I wouldn't buy.

Not a bad idea, if you had bought it at its 52 week low you would have made some serious money. The company is in worse shape and has no sign of hope. The stock has been bid up by people with the same idea. Its at $8 per share. Its low is $6 and some change. Its already up 33% since it bottomed out. If it hits its 52 week low maybe buy, but I don't see the stock being a good bet unless some amazing news comes out. Its just too darn speculative and I think there are better returns available in other stocks. Hell, you could do a lot better in an airline company like UAUA, united, telecom with AT&T, etc.

I hate to say so, but I do not think Ford has a Chinaman's chance in a snow storm. The company was shortsighted and is now paying the price. Their marketing campaign is abolutely pathetic. The product line up is not real inspiring. And they are bleeding a fortune. I say this owning two Fords. It breaks my heart. Do not let it break your bank account. I expect bankrupcy filing within two years.

Japanese Nissan is a far better managed company than Ford. They had to issue a profit warning last Friday because of higher steel prices. If you want to play the car sector, go long German or Asian car manufacturers, short everything French and American. If you own Ford, I would sell them if I were you.
