I'm mostly German and a little bit Irish.
I have to say that it was a shock to find out my great grandmother used to send care packages for the Nazis but I suppose it was a different time them. I think alot of the German people were just blind or ignorant to what was happening.
Just to avoid nasty responses to this post, I'm not saying that justifies what they did....it doesn't.

My condolences!
Although mine are 1/2 Russian and German I have no connection to those countries. Would like to visit Germany for the beer, food and bread I was born in New York City and have lived in Santa Monica most of my life. Heavy emphasis on NOW not where they were before I was born.

all my family has been purely based in upstate new york forever, except after college I'm taking a job offer in Connecticut. I'm Italian and Irish. My heavy emphasis would be on the Italian due to the fact that my great grandmother is Sicilian and my great grand father is northern Italy and my grandfather and they are all extensions of the founders of Salerno city; due mainly b/c they are salernos'.
