On paper, the Tigers should take it, but this is baseball and we all know anything can happen. I'm gonna laugh for 2 months after the Royals keep your team from making the playoffs. Go ahead, count us out, we'll be your spoiler. Don't believe me, who kept the Tigers from clinching the Central last year? LOL

I think The Tigers & Twins will battle it out for The Division. The other will take the wild card.
Cleveland will contend as well, but will probably finish a close 3rd.
I laugh at people who say the whinny sux will win. 2005 was a fluke for them, and they know it. The problem with whinny sux fans is that they are too busy crying about The Cubs all the time they cant open thier eyes to see what is really going on.
The Royals & the whinny sux will battle it out for last place, and KC will win that fight.
EDIT:
when I say KC will win that fight, I mean that the whinny sux will end up IN DEAD LAST PLACE!!!

Twins
Tigers
Indians
WhiteSox
The rest
This is not a weak division by any means. Last season it was one of the strongest, and this year it will be strong, too.
I'm a Twins fan, but I am worried about the Tigers, who made a good aquisition in Sheffield, and the Indians, who also improved.
If the Twins rotation can win the majority of the non-Santana starts, they will be in contention for the lead.

1. Chicago White Sox- 100-62
2. Detroit Tigers- 97-65 (WC)
3. Cleveland Indians- 96-66 (WC)
4. Minnesota Twins- 81-81
5. Kansas City Royals- 50-112
Im hoping the Sox take it all this year, but I also want my former hometown Tribe to win it. As long as the Twins dont make it, then I should be alright, as long as Detroit doesnt knock out my Sox. Watch for a 3 team race for the Central Spot between the Sox, Tigers, and Tribe, with the Sox sweeping one of those 2 teams late in the season, and the remaining teams both picking up the Wild Card spots (beating out Boston and Toronto, as each watch the Yankees stoll into the playoffs). Sorry Beantown and Toronto, you guys will get the short end of the stick this year.
GO WHITE SOX!

How anyone can pick the Twins any higher then 4th is beyond me. They have Sanata and nothing else in the rotation. Radke retired and their hotshot is out for the season. Too much to ask for rookie pitchers.
In all honesty, as one other person said, if the Royals bring up their studs, I can see them finishing 4th ahead of the Twins.
I have CLE 3rd as the pitching isn;t their and their D is below average.
With the White Sox shoring up the pen, I like them to be neck and neck witht he Tigers and edge them out the final series of the year.

I like the Tigers' pitching. I think they will edge out the Sox this year, but just barely. I think the Twins will be in it right to the end, too. Cleveland always looks like they should contend, but seem to find ways to lose. The Royals will be better, but will still finish last.

Great question - the top four teams (Twins, Sox, Indians, Tigers) are all talented but have question marks. My guess is that the Tigers will be on top - nice young pitching and a balanced lineup. I am a Twins fan so I'd love to see them win it but there are too man questions in the roation behind Santana.

the royals. just joking but honestly i think the tigers because they have one of the best rotations with verlander, bonderman, maroth, rogers, and robertson. And they have a very under rated batting line up with granderson, ordonez, sheffield, polonco, pudge, guillen, and inge. And u no that u have a good line up when someone who hit 27 homeruns is batting 9th in the line up

As weak as this division is, with the additions they have made, you can't completely rule Kansas City out of the picture. Tell me where any of the other teams got much better. Of course, it depends if the Royals empty a very potent farm system onto the 25-man roster (Gordon, Butle, Lubanski, Hochevar, et.al.) If not 2007, don't bet against them in 2008.
