This is simple. What is 20% of 20? 4 right? How many times does 20 go into 80? 4 times. What is 4 multiplied by 4? 16. What is 80 minus 16? 64. Your answer $64. I realize this isn't the way your teacher wants this done, but honestly, this isn't a hard problem. You could also multiply 80 by 0.8, and that would give you 64 right from the start. Or you could set up a proportion 20/100=x/80, and then cross multiply. 100x=160. x=16. And then you could do your cross multiplication or you could put in an 80 instead of the 20 in that problem, 80/100=x/80. 100x=640. x=64.

Simple algebra.

Child's play.

Well, 10% of $80 is $8. So, 20% would be $8 x 2 which equals $16. The CD player would cost $80 - $16 which equals $64. Don't forget to add in the sales tax, too!!!!

10% of 80 is 8.

So 20% of 80 is 8X2= 16.

So 20% off of 80 dollars would be 80-16 which = 64

you'd take $80 and times that by .20 and you'll get $16. (the 16 dollars is the discount of the 20% off.) The price after discount will be 64 dollars that would be 80-16=64. Hope that helps.

$64. 20% of 80 is $16 so subtract that from $80 and you get $64

you could do this in a unmarried step. even if it truly is 20% off, then it truly is promoting for 80% of its common value. .8 x 80. = $sixty 4 And to make it even extra ordinary, you could bypass the decimal element in opposite instructions to offset one yet another, and what you're left with is 8 x 8 = sixty 4.

$64.00 IS THE SALE PRICE.
$80.00*20% OR .20= $16.00 $80.00-$16.00=$64.00
EASIER WAY
$80.00*.80=$64.00 .80 BEING THE REMAINING VALUE OF 100%-20%.
