1) Catching lecture material that might not be in the textbooks but you will be expected to know for the exam

2) Knowing which information in your books and supplemental materials you should focus on. Otherwise, you may waste time overstudying because you were not present to hear the professor say, "It's not important to know blah blah blah."

3) Reinforcement in your memory of the reading material that you're supposed to read before the lecture which will make it easier for you to remember during the exam

4) Expressing to your professors and fellow students that you are serious about college. This usually comes into play when you need something to move forward in life, for example additional help or an educational or professional reference.

5) Firsthand lecture notes. Secondhand notes obtained from fellow classmates is only as good as the classmate you got it from. Pretty iffy, considering you never really know about another student's focus level.

6) Connections with fellow students for study groups which helps reinforce the information in your memory.

7) Getting the most out of your college experience which, once it's all said and done, you can never get back.

While I was in college, it was my experience that those who didn't attend classes received lower grades than those who did. You get out of life what you put into it. You only get one life. Therefore, you owe it to youself to put your best foot forward at all times.

Go to class.

unless you're some kind of genius and know everything before hand...u better go to your classes

of course u might be in college purely for the sake of parties and sex. then you might as well drop out and put your parents' valuable money elsewhere.
