Doesn't she understand who owns those profits? I do, you do, the American people do. Mutual funds own them, pensions, unions, teachers unions and so on.

How can she say this? Is she a Marxist?

Sounds like a good old Socialist to me. If Exxon experiences very unprofitable years, is she going to make up the difference and pay for all of the R&D and exploration which must constantly be funded?

Anti-Capitalism goes over very well with the uninformed and simple-minded among us. She is the consummate politician (much like her beau). They shovel BS for a vote like the best of them.

she has always had a soft spot for socialism.

she is pandering to the Far left to counter her "war vote"

and she was some how made to believe that since Americans went slightly to the left that all Americans will fall in with her and her socialist ilk.

Now she is stealing money away from corporations (I hear her "war chest" drying up fast now)...

Whats next she is going to announce the Nationalization of various industries?

She might as well invite Hugo Chavez to spend the summer in the Lincoln Bedroom.

Honestly, I have no idea how the democrats even think this stuff up. or even think crap like that would fly.

2 years ago they ran a known traitor to the American military for the office of the Commander and chief? I means seriously... they couldn't find a failed painter, turned corporal, turned paper hanger to run for office? I think he would have had a better shot (as socialist history shows).

Geez now they throw out an inexperienced pretty face, the socialist wife of an impeached embarrassment to the oval office, a guy who can't seem to make a comment without tripping on his tongue... No wonder no major republicans have thrown their hats in yet.

They are waiting to let the Democrats embarrass the hell out of them self's and win back the moderate vote.

but you know what... If the Dems think that this plan will work in 08, then I cant wait to see their faces the day after the election.

wonder if they will actually flee to Canada this time or just blow more smoke....

I say smoke.

As we have seen recently, it is easier for some folks to verbally attack people and business then to actually come up with solutions to problems. The Dems think it is a good idea to limit or fix pay for CEOs in the private sector for whatever dumb reason. Very likely seriously unconstitutional. Doesn't solve a problem but it sure looks good on paper. Then again, if they can set their salaries, they just might be able to take a look at yours too down the line. I'll bet not a whole lot of us would like that.

Yes, I saw this. I live on an island and need to drive to get almost anywhere. I could swim, I suppose, but it's kind of cold in New York in the winter. Booo to all Americans who waste fuel and don't consolidate their errands and car pools.

The government sure has their hand in my pocket, why should Exxon be any different?

It doesn't make any sense to give money to a company that is having record profits the way George did either, but who is counting.

Tax them no more or less than anybody else.

Hillary who? Isn't that the dude that climbed the mountain?

This is yet another reason she does not need to be anywhere near the Oval Office. It is not only unethical but illegal for the government, or someone claiming to be the government, to take profits from any free market business. This statement is communism, taking from the presumed "rich," only to give it back to the people who bought it - the equivalent of giving everyone free gasoline, which definitely won't work.

She needs to think before she speaks, as hard as that may be for her. I only hope the American people see her for what she is before it's too late.

I only wish I could afford Exxon stock, myself. It is a great investment.

The government needs to keep its filthy hands out of our pockets.

If that's really true I hope Exxon-Mobil tells her to stick it. If she robs them of their profits guess who is going to get jacked at the pumps? You and me. This is insane. She needs to go back to Arkansas. How was this woman allowed to breed? I feel sorry for Chelsea.
