Most shop bought tests are as accurate as the ones st the doctors so I wouldn't worry. See the doc anyway to put your mind at rest. The stress of hospital could have delayed it a bit or your cycle may have just been disrupted this month. I personally have a cycle of 34-35 days so if you work on an average 28 day cycle, I'm 6-7 days late each month! You may find it happens as you are reading this!

Could be a number of things...
could be that you are pregnant...
could be work or home related stress..
could be the type of contraception you use...
could even be that your body clock is late and is catching up...
could even be from shock like if a family member has recently died....
shouldn't worry to much...
if you need to truly make sure your not pregnant or are however you would prefer...contact your doctor...their pregnancy test are much more effective than shop shelf ones....

Absolutely. Being ill can affect your cycle.
No good doing a preg test yet, its far too early to tell from urine. It can take 3-5 weeks for the pregnancy hormone to show on a home test.
If you read the leaflet enclosed with the test, it will tell you when to test as they all vary.

might be and were you late last time? your only 6 days late if your 6 days after last time. for example
if you have your period on december 5th and you call that on time. then you have your next one on jan 7th your only 2 days late. then if you have your next on feb 9th your 2 day late again not 4 because it isnt based on your average it is based on your pervious.
but having a big medical procedure can throw things off too as well as stress.

stress and infection can cause delays...I used to go up to 10 days late...relax and retest in another week...when your body has had no stress or illness to deal with.....if nothing and still a negative result in 10 days go see the doctor in case you have a different problem but I am SURE you will be fine and things will settle down on their own.

Stress can be a huge factor in being
late. I've been 2 months late before due
to stress. It can delay your period
and cause your cycle to get out of wack.

It is just from a long flight. In couple more days you will be fine. The same thing happened to me before. . . You just need rest and relaxation.

You probably just answered your own question of why you are late. Illness, travel and stress are all factors. Just sit back and wait. If after a month you don't start, take another one.

Absolutely...stress causes your menstrual cycle to be abnormal, thus being late. It is way to early to tell if you are pregnant, you would have to wait at least another week or a week and a half.
