Unfortunately, no.
The reason is that it is human nature to want power over others. People can't simply work together. We need structure, and there will always be someone controling others, and there will always be someone opposing that control.
For example: if you were to have a high school class of 30 kids and you told them that they could do anything they wanted, but they only had to come to class every day, this is what would happen.
First, there would be anarchy. They would go crazy, and do anything and everything. But after a while they would start to settle down. It is human nature to be productive (although some arn't) and they would start trying to teach themselves. Soon there would be a sort of "structure" almost a form of government. Someone, or some persons would start to take control (usually the smarter or stronger). But after a while, people would oppose this new "government." And there would be fighting.
So know, there can't be peace on earth, because there needs to be people in power, but there will always be someone who opposes that power.

Yes we can, all we just have to do is put aside our differences in personality, temper, religion, opinions, self-centeredness, and ethnics. People simply don't want to do that, and by nature humans are self-centered and stubborn. What most people need to realize is that we all can't completely agree on EVERYTHING, but we need to learn to COMPROMISE somethings for others. If only people started to think LOGICALLY and use their COMMON SENSE as well as OPEN UP THEIR EYES, things would be different. But of course, most people are narrow-minded and stuck up.
There is an organization that I know of, that travels to other countries to learn about their conditions, religions, languages and cultures in order to promote peace. I usually travel with them, and have been to many places. I plan to use what I have learned to help out countries such as the Eastern European bloc to regain some stability.
Also the purpose of international trade and business is to promote peace. I mean after all, would you turn your back on a country that has been supplying you with the things your country needs? Probably not.

The wish you are having has a term for it-UTOPIA.My friend,it is never possible to have true peace in the world. The world is being driven by human mind which,by its nature, can never be satisfied with what it gets,it yearns for more, thus giving rise to rivalry, jealousy, hatred and violence. So, as long as humans or,for that matter, life exists on earth-there will be violence in one form or the other. So,life will go on as it is going on,with such thoughts of WORLD PEACE only existing/materialising in our dreams.

I believe that is Gods plan. All will be living in spiritual unity with God in unconditional love, within our hearts. After awaking to unconditional love we should pray that all those insane with, fear, anger, and hate may experience the unconditional love in their hearts as we have in ours. See www.prayersinheartswithoutboundries.com. this site will be on line within a few days. Also see www.newhopeministries.info
