apparantly no one actually READ your question... I would suggest Scottsdale, AZ (a suburb or Phoenix) Phoenix is GORGEOUS this time of year... highs in the 60's- 70's warm, no snow, no RISK of snow. Beautiful pools at the hotels, palm trees, awesome nightlife, museums, the Zoo... etc.

San Diego is a great destination. There are a number of really fun things to do for free or low cost....and the weather is mild year round.

Suggestions include: hiking, biking, sunbathing, beach volleyball, beach bonfire, watching an ocean sunset, and exploring tidepools.. Museums in Balboa Park have free days as well.

One of my favorite cruises of the bay is on an old fashion sternwheeler called the Bahia Belle. I last went on it a year ago and it was a real bargain at only $6 per person. There was live music and drinks for sell. (Guests at Bahia Resort and Catamaran ride for free.....the boat travels back and forth all evening from one resort to the other. You can remain on the boat as long as you want.).

What's your problem with the northwest. Take a trip down the coast or to steens. There might be snow there though.
