How do you convert ape to mp3?

I downloaded this album (legally) and they're all ape files. I'd like to add them to my ipod but I probably have to convert them to mp3 files first?? I don't know! It's a Hector Lavoe album, I want to hear that now!

if you go to download.com just type in mp3 converter and it will come up with a lot of programs and just click one with a lot of downloads and that doesnt say buy

and dont worry this is legal
