OoOo girl im currently having the same exact problem....here's what i do, i always make sure i have gum with me and whenever we talk i'll talk out a piece for me and then offer her some, and if she says no thanks i just give it to her anyway. If that doesnt work tell her in a really polite way say "your my friend and all and i love you as a friend but you have bad breath and its bothering me" if u can think of anything nicer go ahead.....GOOD LUCK!!!

Maybe she has an internal problem that would require a Doctors help. Sometimes kidney or other internal organ issues can show themselves thru exhaling. On a less serious scenario, I know that a friend of mine had a similar problem. When I was talking about my dentist one day he was looking for a new dentist as his was getting ready to retire. He did go with my dentist and his bad breath disappeared. We both have excellent health and dental insurance from work so I hope this gets you going in the right direction. Good luck.

give her some gum and joke about it
or
sit her down and tell her you don't want to embarass her, but if a friend can't tell you, who's going to. say, "i feel awkward about saying this cause of how much i value your friendship, maybe your not aware, but i notice that you have bad breath. i hope i havne't offended you"
or
write it in a note or email and say basically the same thing. its a cheap way to do it but will get your point across and you won't have to face her until you see her again.
my mom had the same problem. i took the jokin route. then she acknowledged that she new she had bad breath, but was a problem she was dealing with her dentist re: her dentures. but, then your friend might have a similar problem.
or
leave it be and accept her for who she is and deal with it.

Buy some mints and have one then offer her one and maybe she will take the hint. I have friend like that at work, I try and steer clear of her breath. It's hard, but I don't want to embarrass her by telling her she has bad breath, so I do the mint thing.

In this day and age, it is most common to brush ones teeth and to use mouthwash. Therefore, I must assume that there is another reason for the bad breath.
There are a few diseases that cause bad breath, that one would not be aware of if it happens to them.
Tell her about it, you will be doing her a favor.
If you are still afraid of hurting he feelings, send her an anonymous letter.

find out what works for bad breath then invite her to hang out with you or for a sleepover and while you guys are talking just bring it up casually. Don't laugh though as it might embarrass her. Then after telling her just tell her what works to get rid of the smell.

Make up a nice gift package for her: toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash and breath mints. Also give her the name of your dentist. If she asks you about it, tell her that as a friend you want her to know that she has a problem
I would want someone to tell me. Wouldn't you?

Just invite her over, and talk to her 1 on 1. If she is a good friend than she will listen, and know that your only trying to help her.

Keep some "breath savers" in your purse and offer her one everytime you are close to her. Take one yourself too since it kinda masks her odor from you. Hopefully, she will catch on. I had a friend who did and we are STILL friends but she got the hint.
