Yes. The cheapest I have found is Intelligent Finance who charge £14 per transaction, no matter how large.

However why do you need to transfer? If you visit the country to which you wish to transfer,open a Nationwide Bank Account and make withdrawals while abroad via ATM - no charges and the best exchange rates. You can withdraw upto £300 per day.

Oh, and any positive balances gain interest at about 4.25%

Of the banks I've used to transfer money I've always been charged.

On each occasion I've transferred money from either Halifax, Abbey or Barclays to banks in the US. Haven't done for a little while but if I recall the fee was about £25.

Yes of course they do. When I transfer £1000 its typically £20, plus another £7 at the receiving end.

YES it,s a bloody rip off you get charged from your bank and you get charged from the bank you are transffering to know wonder banks tout for custom
