I have a lexmark X1185 PrinTrio
It wont work on ANY of my usb ports and the computer says it cant communacate with the printer. I have no clue how to fix it, Ive already gone through the troubleshooting guide. NOTHING IS WORKING! Ive even re-installed the printer!!! UGH *Pulls hair out*

yes, It has printed before.
No its not new.
Yes its my defualt printer.
Everything seems to be right and it STILL WONT WORK!!!!

my other devices are working. Speakers iPod ect. My iPod did have a little trouble but I fixed it.. I think it had a little to do w/ a port. I cant remember.

The little green light when I turn it on doesnt stay on, It loads the paper and then the light turns on and off... I dont know what that means.. But no matter what I do it wont stay on like it did when it was working. I think its in sleep mode... It still says it cant communacate w/ the comp

Details! New printer? Did it ever print? Have you reformatted your PC? Do other usb devices work? Get a clue! If you want good answers, produce good details! AHHHH! Thats a horse of a different color! Now we are gettin somewhere! Your printer is defunct! Regardless of anything else, even if the printer werent plugged into anything but the power, It should remain on!

Go to lexmark.com and download upgraded drivers, disconnect, uninstall your printer. Reboot, be sure the printer does not exist. Load the new software, then connect the printer to your pc.

Did you set that printer as your default printer? You may have to go into Control Panel and do so.
