isn't there a saying or quote from somebody or common knowledge that past 100 years has shown more revolutionary change the 500 years before it or somthing- im writing a paper about the last 100 years, and am wondering whether the above statement is a good arguemnt to make

Yes, it is a good argument to make. It's probably more revolutionary than a time period longer than that though.

That saying is probably a bit dated. Certainly, the last 200 yrs has been a big change. 200 yrs ago, 90% of the population lived in rural areas and made their living in agriculture. Now, the numbers are flipped and less than 10% of the population is involved with agriculture as a direct means of subsistence.

However, the last 100 yrs has seen the development of:
radio
television
computer
personal computer
Internet
WiFi
telephone
cell phone
Social Security
Medicare
medical insurance
personal banking
personal checking
credit cards
spreadsheets
wordprocessing
Powerpoint
flash drives
audio CDs
phonographs
data CDs
VCRs
DVDs
CRTs
LEDs
lasers
etc...

If you can write about half of these items and their impact on the average person, I think you'll have pretty decent paper
