I opened a mov file in my sister's pc using Win Media Player and used "save as" to save it as avi and it worked. How come I can't do it in my own Win Media Player 10 program?

I had the same problem. I had to uninstall it and use 9 instead.

Associate the file extension .MOV with Windows Media Player, if this is what you are trying to do. Maybe that will work for you.

Right click a .mov file
Select "Open with..." and then "Choose Program" from the pop-out menu.
Find Windows Media Player in the list, and click the option to always use this program, and then the OK button.

.mov extensions are quicktime movies. Did you install quick time? You need the correct codec to play certain formats on windows media.

once you've Quicktime put in, you're waiting to shop the video as an AVI document. except that, i'm no longer constructive what you ought to apply that would not require a receive. i exploit Videora (PS3 Video and Videora iPod Converter).
