Where does internet history go when deleted?

Yes you won't be able to find it anyhwhere after deleting.

But all info on the computer, if not properly deleted and wiped by a thorough wiping software, will leave traces on the computer, making it possible for people with data recovery softwares to just do something like:
when u're not around, sneak into ur room, connect a portable hard disk to ur computer, switch on ur computer and insert a boot cd to recover all data, and store it onto the harddrive. Without even entering your login and password.
