Someone told me that they actually like people who are shy. I'm shy and because it's so limiting, it's hard to see it in a positive light. Just wanted input on a new perspective.

I'm a pretty shy individual, myself, and I see it as a positive trait for a number of reasons. I suppose most importantly, it keeps you selective about who you associate with. Since it gives you the tendency to wait for others to approach you, it means you're more likely to be surrounded by people who actually give a damn about you. At least enough that they made the decision to approach you in the first place.

Well, I myself am dangerously shy, so I understand how it's hard to see the positives. If I had to guess, I'd say that most shy people aren't cocky, which is always a plus. Also, being afraid to speak up can be highly beneficial in certain social situations- it's a good way to stay out of trouble. Shy people are often very kind, too.

Curious: I would say, shyness keeps people guessing - when girls like a guy, who doesn't come on strong (like most do) , the girls begin to wonder, what is he like ? , etc. Then, when the guy makes his move, he stands out, by not getting lost in the "shuffle". Shy people tend to be very subjective to varying situations and circumstances. When a shy person begins to get out of the subjective mode or mind-set, they tend to take the time to view things in a more objective mind-set. Hope this helps in answering your question, some, what!

A lot of guys find shy girls to be cute and mysterious. Shy guys are thought of as being psychopaths to girls so that wouldn't count. If you're a shy girl shyness is a plus (for shy guys it's a handicap).

On a humorous note, I'd add that shy people rarely get STDs. If you don't date, then you're safe! :)

If you do get to know a shy person, they will remember you. People who make friends easily tend to treat people as interchangeable.

depends on how much of shyness ?it is good if it doesnt interfere with ur normal social life,and just keeps u from hurting ur self.
