I've been a virtual recluse since I was 20 years old. I celebrate my 41st birthday later this month.

The only time I step out the house now is to go to work. All my shopping is done over the internet and the only other time I venture out is to go to the dentists once a year.

The reason I avoid social contact is that I find other people mostly repugnant. In my experience most people are rude, devious, two-faced and self serving and hence best avoided.

I'm lucky in that I live in a large 8 bedroom house with over 20 acres of land and can therefore keep well away from other people.

There are actually many people out there who avoid social contact. We aren't often talked about because for obvious reasons nobody really know that we exist. However, in our own way we live fulfilled and happy lives well away from society and all its evils.
